I just need a few ideas to get me moving. Here's the topic.

Discuss the theme of revenge. Which characters seek revenge and why? How do you think Dickens regards revenge?

THANKS FOR ANY HELP! :-)

Think about Miss Havisham - what is the driving motivation behind all her actions? (Why does she keep telling Estella to break Pip's heart?) Why is she that way? And how does it turn out for her?

Think about Orlick, his actions and motivations - why does he hurt Mrs. Joe, why does he try to hurt Pip? How does that turn out for him?

Think about Arthur Havisham (he's not in the book himself, but Magwitch tells Pip all about him). Why did he join the scheme against Miss Havisham? How did that turn out?

Looking at the characters who seek revenge and at what this gets them, what do you think Dickens is trying to tell us?

Hope this helps. :)
