I don't remember the brand that I received as a shower gift but I only used it 2 times and I ran out of bottles before the cycle was through and got a bad steam burn. I quit using it and tossed it in a closet and bought a set of the little baskets for the dishwasher for like $5. The dishwasher soaps have chlorine in them so the bottles get sterilized.

The Avent sterilizer for the microwave is great, but some people don't like to microwave their baby's things, so there's also a sterilizer by Avent and one by Evenflo that work with steam. If you want to do the old fashioned thing, you could boil water in a pot and drop the bottles there, but if you leave them unattended, they usually melt, so that's time consuming and not much fun when you have to throw them out and get new ones.

I can't tell you the best one but I have found through my own trial and error with my daycare that a dishwasher will sterilize the bottles just as well as anything. The temperatures get high enough to kill any bacteria. Not only that you dont have to buy a separate item to tak up room on your counter and there is a smaller chance of getting a steam burn.

I had the Avent microwave sterilizer. It was great, in the microwave for 4 mins and let sit for 3 mins.

I didn't have a dishwasher, my friends told me that works well just as well as long as you wash the bottles (not standard rinse)
