Hiya, you can co-sleep from the first day :) It is a lovely bonding experience and the family bed (I believe) makes for happy confident kids :) Saying that, I often have uncomfortable nights because I am VERY aware that my baby is in bed with me and I tend to stay in the same position all night! LOL!!
Re the blanket, I think that when they start to be able to move around the blanket or any sheets should be removed and perhaps replaced w a grobag or something similar... my daughter (8 mo) is in a grobag/sleeping bag now and it keeps her warm, no risk of suffocation and she can wriggle around without kicking off covers!
Best of luck with everything.

I'm a mother of 3 and if u want my opinion, you should never sleep with them. Why do they need to sleep with you and not in a bassinette or cot? Get them used to it now because you don't want them still sleeping with you when they are 3 or 4. I think a baby can have a blanket from day one. As long as it is securely tucked in, and not too close to their face, then they should be fine. My 4 month old didn't like being wrapped up at all so she has always had a blanket. Certainly never give pillows

my baby has never used blankets, instead she has slept in those baby sleeping bags, i have some of different warmth fabrics depending on season. they are great, she stays warm/covered and can't kick it off or get it on her face. Personally i am not into the idea of co-sleeping, i would never get any sleep cos i would be constantly worried about them falling out of the bed, getting suffocated etc. was just reading an article yesterday in an australian magazine which quoted a SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) organisation saying co-sleeping can be linked with SIDS. of course it doesn't happen very often but who wants to take that chance?
i also have some friends who have co-slept with their babies and really regret it now cos the kids are terrible sleepers and always wanna be in the bed with them, they regret ever starting it!

I'm not a fan of co-sleeping at night but did nap with my baby in our bed until she was 6 months.
It's okay when your baby is able to pull it away from its face. In our case, around 6 months, but we still tuck under the armpits

when the baby can move the blanket themselves and I know it's really hard not to co-sleep with your baby but it's not a habit I would get into. Maybe only when they are sick or a short nap. Habits are hard to break especially with little ones.
Don't give them one and you won't have to break it later!!!
I also know someone whose baby died in their arms because they not only fell asleep with it but it suffocated in it's own blanket. So, so sad :(
They have moses bed if you want your baby close. it fits in your bed and they are safe.
