I would rather a President...(liberal, conservative, Democrat, Republican, black, white, male or female...it doesn't mater...) to be PROACTIVE in their policy to protect America and Americans...All bashing aside (I know, I know) would you rather your President be REACTIVE and sit back and wait for something terrible to happen again...?

Answer like its your favorite person in the world as President and then you'll give an honest answer...

Katrina would be reactive...proactive would be to build better levies to protect N.O. so it doesn't happen again.

He is hated because he is Republican. Plain and simple.

Personally- though I disagree with a lot of the actions he has taken- I am glad to have someone who decided to make a stand against Terrorism.

No, if he had been proactive with Hurricane Katrina for example, I think people would have found that encouraging. If he was going to be proactive about invading a country, I would have appreciated him invading the correct one, which would have been Saudi Arabia (that's the country the 9/11 terrorists were actually from) for example.

Or being proactive about finding Osama Bin Laden who was the mastermind behind 9/11. Being proactive about telling the truth: He said he had no knowledge of the Plame case & will fire people found to leak in the Plame case and he hasn't. Last time I checked Cheney was still there!

Edit: Oh, and thanks for reminding me with your Katrina was reactive not proactive comment! Actually, the President was warned before Hurricane Katrina that the levees would probably fail and did nothing (as did others in government of course). http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11627394/ And that reminds me of his lie after Katrina when he said: No one could have had any idea the levees would have failed. (Although he'd been warned of that just a few days earlier!) Does that guy ever tell the truth I wonder???

I would rather a president be honest and forthright.
bush lied to the American people to take us to war with Iraq.
The data was shown to be manipulated, and when people started to complain in the early days after 9/11, they were treated as criminals if they were "Joe Six-pack", and wives were outed of their covert identities if they were part of the D.C. mob.
bush wasted more goodwill for the U.S. than we will ever see again in our lifetimes.
The money that is being wasted to occupy Iraq could be have been better spent on our hungry and needy, and to develop clean fuels here, rather than steal the oil from Iraq.

If anybody doesn't agree with me, then sit back and actually think about the situation.
Our two top administrators are both oil men.
When they get into office under very shady and questionable means, they both stand to gain fortunes EVERY DAY.
Not just one fortune, but insane amounts of money.
Do you remember the drop in oil price directly in front of the elections last November? Do you think it was coincidence?

Nixon can rest in peace, now that he has been surpassed by far greater criminal activity.

He is hated for many diffrent reasons. Most of the people that hate him, disagree with him on some point of his stated policy and or beliefs. Others started out supporting him, and after seeing his actions, think he has made mistakes and or taken things to far.

As far as bieng proactive, democrats as a political party hold the general belief that it is better to wait and see, that there is always a diplomatic solution, etc.

They now complain that Bush was a war monger. That he barged in without a plan. However most of those same democrats that say that now, where at the time in favor. It's simple political expediency. After 9/11 America wanted to kill people. We where, as a people, pissed off. We had been hurt and we wanted to lash out. George W. Bush did exactly that and he was supported for it. Now things have changed. Many people see american soldiers dying on television and want it stopped. Now people are saying end the damn war. Bring our troops home. The republican party will not, as a group, say that because they feel they have to support thier man. The democratic party lost alot of power, and now that the winds have shifted, are using the "Bring our troops home" bandwagon as a platform to get themselves elected.

Actually, I think President Bush has done everything right. The rise of Putin and the neo-Communists in Russia have coincided with the very bad press against our country and our president. Once again, the same Democrats become anti-American and drag the country into darkness. Have you read "Witness"?

I can not understand anyone wanting to sit back and cower in our borders right now. We will draw the Jihadis, soon to be armed with nuclear devices, right into our midst. Hasn't everyone seen the stories about Russia arming Syria and Iran through
Belarus:
http://www.breitbart.com/news/2007/03/06/070306201334.qse2sfab.html

The Cold War has never ended: Look at Lebanon.

In domestic policy: seniors have drug benefits , more people own houses than ever, our currency has stayed strong, personal income is up, low unemployment. Yet the more people have the more they not only want, but think they
MUST have! Americans have become greedy, thankless whiners!

Our stock market has been attacked repeatedly by foreign interests trying to destabilize our economy and they haven't been able to do it. Who else is going to keep this country going under these circumstances?

Hillary, Obama? John Edwards? Fat chance!

bush is hated because he's a liar and a criminal. He's mixed up with the PNAC, the most evil group of ultra rich, self proclaimed neo-conservatives on earth, and together they are responsible for the events of 9/11. Do some real research and you will find the truth check out http://www.jonhs.net/911/take_back_911.htm and http://www.newamericancentury.org These sites will get you started.

Does illegal, unconstitutional and lying mean the same as Proactive?

You don't protect Americans from terrorist by attacking a country that had none, nor were they involved in 9/11! He has been proactive in making America a lot of enemies!

I dont disagree with Bush because hes proactive.

Its just that the things he is proactive with are totally insane. (like Iraq)

And the things that he should be proactive about, (like, oh I dont know...Katrina?) he isnt.

Sorry, proactive or not, I still think hes an awful President, but I dont hate him.

Being proactive means planning carefully and acting appropriately to the situation, not running around like a mad bull and crashing into the fences while people laugh at you. In that sense, by all means a proactive one, but what this one did was a joke with hoorrible consequences, because he is a joke as a creature.

No sane person likes war and it takes a strong leader to send brave men and women into a hostile zone, Fighting the fanatics has to be done. just think what would be happening in our country if those brave ones did not go and kill those fanatics in the middle east. We live in a hostile world not a Hollywood drama film, humans will never live in peace together. that simple. kill or be killed.

Doesn't proactive remove blemishes? Then why is he still here? Jessica Simpson may not know if chicken of the seas is chicken or not, but even she could run the country better than that pimple on our ***!
