No, Super Bowl teams don't tend to do well the season after they win in most circumstances (99 Broncos watched Elway retire, then Terrell Davis got hurt blocking on a turnover, ending his career and Denver's playoff hopes;2000 Rams had Kurt Warner get hurt while on pace to throw for about 6000 yards and were easily disposed of in the postseason; 2001 Ravens had Jamal Lewis tear up his knee and the defense got banged up but miraculously made it back to the playoffs; 2002 Patriots missed the playoffs for the only time in Brady's career as a starter thus far; 2003 Bucs watched Keyshawn Johnson feud with Jon Gruden all season as they missed the playoffs; 2005 Patriots had their defense banged up all year long and were booted from the playoffs easily; 2006 Steelers watched Ben Roethlisberger get in a bike wreck while riding not just without a helmet, but also without a license then he got his appy removed and was rushed back then when he got his act together he had a concussion and by the time he recovered they were 2-6 and were booted from the playoffs thanks to 2 blowouts at the hands of the Ravens)
Things are even bleaker for Super Bowl losers (99 Falcons had their RB Jamal Anderson get hurt and were stuck with backups that made last year's Browns look like last year's Chargers as they weren't even heard from; 2000 Titans repeated their 13-3 record but the Madden Curse struck Eddie George in the playoffs as he fumbled the ball into the hands of Rey Lewis, costing Steve McNair the 2nd of his 3 serious chances thus far to win a Super Bowl; 2001 Giants never recovered from an embarrassing Super Bowl defeat and missed the playoffs; 2002 Rams watched both Kurt Warner and Marshall Faulk get hurt and neither was the same ever again; 2003 Raiders went to the bottom of the NFL as everybody got hurt or old or both and they've yet to climb their way out; 2004 Panthers missed the playoffs and Steve Smith got hurt in Week 1, nearly preventing his chance to rise to stardom; 2005 Eagles watched as a faction supporting Terrell Owens feuded with Donovon McNabb and Andy Reid's faction as they missed the playoffs for the only time this decade; 2006 Seahawks running game collapsed as neither reigning MVP Shaun Alexander nor backup Maurice Morris could run the ball and they couldn't pass very well either, but they made it back to the playoffs because Arizona self-destructed, San Francisco was too young, and St. Louis had no defense).
The favorites right now to go to the Super Bowl should be New England (signing Adalius Thomas makes them the number 1 defense in the NFL instead of the Ravens and they're better on offense; I'm a Ravens fan so I'm definitely qualified to say that) against New Orleans. San Diego's probably disqualified since they hired Norv Turner as coach and he's failed everywhere he's been a head coach. Baltimore's offense isn't good enough to get by New England without the defensive advantage, though they could capitalize on Patriot injuries if they can get a RB (maybe Musa Smith's good enough to start?). Kansas City's got too old of a team to be a serious contender. They were falling apart this past year. Among non-playoff teams in the AFC, Miami, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Jacksonville, and Tennessee have the best shots. Miami's got Daunte Culpepper and could challenge New England if he's healthy. Cincinnati could do better if they can stop the crime spree. Pittsburgh should be better off without Big Ben trying to beat his brain's out. Jacksonvile's got a dominating backfield, with both Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew. Tennessee's got Vince Young and they should have LenDale White starting soon enough. He's got to be an upgrade over Travis Henry. NFC sleeper teams could be the Giants (they've definitely got the talent, but can they keep their team together long enough to do anything?), Cowboys (great talent, but Wade Phillips is a loser coach), Packers (They've still got Favre and they've got a young core), Panthers (They were considered the best in the NFL by many during the preseason; Got to fix their passing game), Falcons (Maybe Petrino's smart enough to bench Mike Vick for Matt Schaub), Cardinals (can they find a way not to blow it again this year?), and 49ers (Can Alex Smith develop into an average starting QB? Can Frank Gore hold up under a larger workload?).
It's almost a given that the Colts won't repeat. There are 32 teams in the NFL and its so difficult to win a Super Bowl that the vast majority of teams that do it cannot repeat and often miss the playoffs altogether. Indy's suspect run defense will hurt them eventually or maybe Peyton Manning will get hurt. You never know what could happen to ruin Indy's season.
Whatever happens, I'm certain teams aren't going to repeat the mistake of making Manning go long drives to beat them. Leg Cramps wore out the Patriot and Bear defenses in the playoffs, making it possible for Manning's comebacks. It's also probable that the Patriots still would have beat Indy with the leg cramps (as they nearly did) were Adalius Thomas on their team then. Manning won't be facing too many Cover 2s in the future because he's too patient these days and will wear down those defenses more effectively than the most powerful running back.

They are like the Steelers. They went 14-2 15-1 10-6 (super bowl) and they bomb out this year!

Not likely. They are talented and now have a taste for going all the way. But, I think that they will falter some this season. It seems that that is the trend.
Look for the Bolts to put a hurting on the AFC this season!

Yes, I don't see any of last year's contenders being as strong this year. The Bears lost a lot of defense, the Chargers lost Marty and the Patriots haven't been what they have been (including losing Graham)

No way...they had their year in the spotlight, they lost stokley and dominic rhodes is on his way out he will be gone soon. also the patriots improved in the off season as did a lot of teams like the redskins, ravens, and broncos. Also some teams that had shakey seasons last year will be on point this year like the chiefs, steelers, and seahawks

They've gotta be the odds-on favorite.
Watch out for Dallas now that Parcells and his archaic gameplan is gone and the defense and oline are improving.
I'd also say the bengals and jets....yes, the jets-could be right there. And never count out New England.

I don't think so, the season of 06-07, they were just lucky. This is the season for The San Diego Chargers.

I can't say yes or no this early. Injury bugs, free agency/draft signings, and soft schedules affect a clear answer. Obviously, with one ring on they are a threat for two.
