My computer is 128 RAMand the processor is 1.7, I would to change the rams to 512 RAM. Is it possible without causing any harm?

how long is ur computer? if its 3 years back, a 512mb ram is usually capable for ur motherboard to runs. however, check the type of ram used on ur motherboard.

Depending on the motherboard, an older one cannot. The new ones are smaller than the older ones(the ram chip, physically)
