Correct. The police state is just round the corner and in Europe it is driven from Brussels. The majority in Europe do not want a superstate and would like their countries back, however the politicians like the gravy train wages and the lack of financial control that goes with this multi-ethnic state.

As things get worse the only way the politicians will be able to protect themselves from an outraged public will be with a police state and using the army to control the population.

The Roman model is the one that will be used and we in Britain will find a foreign army on our soil when Brussels finally have control and our army will be somewhere else, come to think about it that is happening now isn't it?

Things are pretty similar in America. There's an increasing anti-Government sentiment nationwide.

I guess the World Government people better be scared because they're facing a revolt here in the US over the Real ID (which establishes a National Driver's License and would be required to board a plane, government train, bank, or enter a Federal building) and calls for Border Security (which the vast majority of Americans strongly support though most of the government does not; border security protesters are smeared as racists by illegal immigrants who open call for No Borders, No Border Patrol, One World). We've had politicians canned in some states for pay raise politicking last year.

I thought it was weird when I noticed that the French voted against the EU Constitution. I would encourage Europeans to not stop until the EU is done and you have your national currencies back.

Speaking as an American-- we'll race you to totalitarianism!

A "police state" and a "nanny state" go hand in hand. As freedoms are taken away, the state needs to address the basic human needs, food, shelter, entertainment and the like. Otherwise there will be riots powerful and widespread enough to threaten even the most locked-down government. People too easily trade their rights for security. But if they don't feel secure, the deal's off. The Romans referred to it as "bread and circuses", keep the people fed and distracted enough and they won't complain about the size of their cages. We have plenty of choices (every reality TV show has a voting gimmick), just not choices that mean anything.

You are not the only person to feel this way. The US is becoming a "police state" slowly as well. The problem is that people are lazy and feel that this kind of thing isn't their problem. They have become complacent. I'm not even sure a good swift kick in the **** would remedy it either. People are too busy watching American Idol and the Real World to notice.

It is good to know that not everyone is prepared to accept everything they are told and I believe that we will be moving closer to a place where the people will govern themselves. In this time of freedom of information for all, it is so apparent tnat we can have the information but only what they say we should know and when they say we can. Looking forward to see what the future holds.

Absolutely agree. If you wish to change your nation for the better, and are unafrauid of being wrongfully slandered as being 'racist'- I'd suggest switching your vote to a party that cares about its' constituents- BNP. Everyone paints them out ot be racist- but you'll find simply by reading they're out to make British people's lives better- not the Johnny Foreigner yobs.

How can it be a police state when we still have frequent democratic elections? Your freedom of choice has not changed. It's whether you choose to exercise it that matters.
