I'm gonna go outside the box and pick an upset---Arkansas or Wisconsin.
Picking USC is too boring and safe.

Well it isn't going to be anyone from the Big conferences, Big East, Big 10 or Big 12, with the exception of possibly Texas. However, I think that Florida will repeat. Allowing their quarterback to play often last year as a freshman will help their chances. Also, they don't rebuild when Urban Meyer is the coach, They reload. And their gun is pointed at all of college football. The Gators are going to be up there, the only problem I see is the lack of experience

Michigan is looking pretty strong with so many returning seniors. But where they really even that good last year? They have some proving to do.
Florida could possibly repeat. They had a tremendous recruiting class that filled their key positions with players who could start immediately, 9 of which are already enrolled and will participate in spring practice. Meyer has also shown a knack for getting freshman to have major impacts early.
USC is also a young team that is steadily improving. Losing Dwayne Jarret could hurt them, but they are still loaded with a lot of young talent.
West Virginia could also be a wild card with Slaton and White both still there. I also don't think that the Big East will be as competitive as it was last year.
California also has a strong chance with lots of talented players returning.
But really, at this point, that's all we have - speculation. Hell, for all we know, UNC could be in the running this year.

USC, Michigan, Florida, LSU, Texas, Louisville and West Virginia are the contenders imo. It's way too early to pick, but I would have to grudgingly pick USC.
