Hmm, well the earth was once destroyed by a flood but next time by fire. An asteroid could create alot of fire and be an easy method of destroying the earth. But I'm not worried. There are alot of other things going to happen before the world is completely destroyed and I know where I'm going to be so that's cool. A smaller asteroid could destory simply a city or state or country - but I think we've got some systems in place to where we're watching the trajectory of asteroids using satellite to where if something were going to happen, we could have some warning and some idea of where it was going to land. We'd probably come up with a plan to destroy the asteroid or break it up before it hits earth. But the tsunami effect if a big asteroid hit the water could be devastating. Well, there's so many other things I could be afraid of that are much more likely to happen that this one just doesn't make it to the top of my mind most of the time. If you're an evolutionist - you have even less to worry about - if a major asteroid hasn't hit the earth since millions of years ago when animals appeared on the land and wiped everything out to where life would have to start all over again - the chances of it happening randomly being almost infinitely absurd - the chances of an asteroid happening now and destroying life is nill right?

fear is a natural phenomenon hence everybody on this earth would be afraid. we humans can hide our emotions like fear but cannot suppress them. being afraid actually triggers chemical changes within our bodies which help us to Analise and find solutions lightning fast. for eg. if i ask you what you would do if a asteroid is about to fall on your head you would probably think it over and give me a couple solutions.
but if it was a real time situation, let me assure you, your fear will take over and the solution / implementation would happen automatically.

Afraid isn't exactly the word that describes my feeling.

I don't fear it because I think if it happens, we are just out of luck anyway. A big enough one can wipe out civilization as we know it and there is nowhere to run.
