I always thought it was a jab at the trends of the time, with a little craziness, masturbation, and angst thrown in for good measure.

Lines like "I want to publish scenes and rage against machines" and "I want to pierce my toungue" always sounded like they were picking on the popular stuff going on when it came out.

The stuff about "the curves of your body" and "feel[ing] a bit naughty" has to be about masturbation.

"Put me in the hospital for nerves and then they had to commit me" and "paranoia paranoia everybody's coming to get me" are obviously pointing to insanity/craziness. He also talks about "running underground with the moles" and mocks "the cretins cloning and feeding." This signals withdrawal from society. These combined with the making fun of trends sounds like he thinks everyone is ridiculous and he just wants to get aways from them all. Not being able to do so is driving him insane.

Wow...I never realized that song could be dissected so thoroughly...though I never did figure out why they had to cut off his legs.
