Personally, I would go with Nicole Kidman '02. Although her role was kinda unnecessary and out of place to the rest of the movie (in my opinion) her performance was stellar.

A close second would be Francis McDormand. I'm not completely fond of the movie, but I've always loved her performance in it.

Helen Hunt a distant third (this one more on the merit of the film and the quality of the rest of the cast elevating her performance)

conversly, and still in my opinionated opinion, Julia Roberts and Halle Berry could be completely ignored from this list, second rate films with phoned-in performances by third-rate talents.

Helen Mirren without a doubt! But Frances McDormand is an awfully close second!

Hello,
Helen Hunt.
Julia Roberts is a close second, but I gotta say Helen Hunt.

oh that's right, the no-talent scrawny blonde twit won. (why were her breasts bound in Shakespeare in Love anyway? it's not like she has any)
