Depositions are simply sworn statements & responses to questions asked by attorneys in the case. The defense will depose whomever they feel has pertinent info to contribute, & the litigant's counsel will do the same.

These depsotions are done as a prelude to actually taking a case to court before a judge & jury.

Often the sides are able to reach an agreement on a settlement before the case proceeds to the courtroom.

Discuss things w your lawyer. they may be nearing a settlement, or one side or the other might have just requested a brief delay to review what they know at this point, & how best to proceed.

This isn't necessarily a good or bad development , altho it could indicate something is about to happen.

Good Luck!!
