First of all, the government would have to be somehow tyrant-like. I don't mean tyrant-like in the way some psycho has never known any love and just wants to rip all other people apart but I mean tyrant-like in the way you can't listen to each and every dumbo whino out there when they are saying the same thing but just are too lazy to rule the world. After that, they have to be sensitive to other people's basic needs. They don't have to know that Sally loves football and Scott loves music and Sid can't take being alone but they have to have a good heart to go with their strong ruling heart that I already mentioned. Last thing they need is a good criminal system. A real criminal system. Real laws. Real punishment. And a real shamrock. This way, everyone gets all they can from life.

A free republic. Unfortunately, there can be no real "world governent" made by human hands that won't involve human corruption.

This country actually was founded on a good principle, separation of powers, limited government, etc... Unfortunately, it's grown into a multitrillion dollar cancer on the economy. More people want their handouts, so government grows its tentacles into more of every day living of its citizens.

If you believe the Bible, there's going to be a one world government before the return of Christ that will be the ultimate totalitarian dictatorship.

The best government is one with limited power and limited scope. Going global is counter to that.

A liberal democracy, with the appropriate checks and balances. The US has a good model with its three branches of government (so long as the legislative and judicial branches keep the Executive in check); the only drawbacks currently are the Electoral College which renders the voting system undemocratic (should be one person-one vote, not one big party appointed Elector-one vote), and gerrymandering which re-organizes congressional borders to suit the needs of the party in control and doesn't let the free system govern.

the people who would be inj charge of a world government are very bad people. it will not be democracy, it will be a plutocracy. This will probably happen soon, by the way.
