I hate when Marvel (or any comic company) does this: they kill off a popular character just for a quick shot to sales. At some point, they WILL bring him back, and it will have to involve some sort of retarded plot involving aliens, clones, time travel, magic, or such. It just weakens the already shakey credibility of comic book writers.
Anyway, I'm sure marvel will milk this as much as possible by having the plot line bleed over into other comic titles. I.e.. the X-men and Avengers will team up to find the assasin, but they run into Spiderman and the Fantastic Four and end up fighting them (as comic book heroes love to fight each other for no apparent reason).

Marvel's goal here was to bring attention to the Captain America character, and they did. Killing him was a brilliant marketing move.
The Captain America movie is currently being made. I think Marvel was looking to show investors that people STILL care about Captain America. Now, they should be able to get the funds and backing they need to make the movie.
How Cap will come back is probably a moot point. Hopefully they will do it in a believable (by comic standards) way.
Cap WILL come back just in time to promote his new movie. You can bank on it.
Oh, and dont go paying anything more than cover price for the death of Cap issue from Marvel. Marvel is heavily publishing this book. Everyone who wants one will be able to buy 5 of them soon. People paying $75 and up for the book are complete and utter fools.

I’ve been answering a lot of these questions about Captain America lately, and I was going to skip this one, but it looks like the other people haven’t really given you the background you were asking for. Okay, go to my recent answers and you will see a whole list of questions like yours that have been answered recently, with more serious answers than some of these other people have given you. It is a very sad thing about Captain America, and I hope they bring him back, soon!

I thnk the asker is in all probability blind to modern-day multiverse politics. Captain u . s . of america replaced into, until presently, the chief of an anti-government (notice, not anti-American) faction of superheroes. the government had desperate that each and all and sundry superheroes mandatory to be registered with u . s . of america (including divulging their secret identity). Captain u . s . of america and his faction believed this infringed upon his Civil Rights and so went into hiding and forged an underground resistance. The impressive element right this is that, staring on the way you employ your words, Cappy replaced into the two a conservative or a liberal. Strict conservatives might question the area of government over the rights of those persons, yet modern-day adherers to our administration's ideologies might call him a dissident. Liberals, regularly, prefer regulation yet in addition prefer civil liberties in any respect expenses. it somewhat is a not undemanding concern. i've got self assurance the modern-day politics of the area trumps the greater classic political roles. I belive Cappy replaced into forged as a "liberal" in this occasion, believing in his u . s . regardless of what the rustic's modern-day management reported. provided that his important adversary on the professional-government facet replaced into industrialist Tony Stark (Iron guy), the jobs becomeeven clearer. That being reported, purely simply by fact Cappy (in my opinion forged simply by fact the liberal right here) replaced into killed does not negate the reality that the editors and writers are liberal. certainly, his death would be a sobering 2nd for all in touch and he will in all probability finally end up being a martyr for his reason. the finished act of writing the Civil conflict sequence could desire to be construed as a liberal act because it advocates conscientous dissent of the government's rules. This replaced into in all probability greater of an answer than you have been looking forward to.
