In just under two weeks I need to teach a 3 hour college counseling class on the topic of animal assisted therapy. I have done some research on The Eden Alternative. I have also read some about training and taking animals into the nursing home setting. However, I need more than just taking dogs in to see the elderly. I would appreciate any help here. Any websites...anywhere you know of articles or books....Please help me. I am really struggling here. I also need to make up a handout for the future counselors in the classroom to educate them and that they can take out of the course to assist them in their future careers. Sighs. Thanks so much for any assistance you can give. Appreciate it.

There is a graduate course on animal assisted therapy at the University of North Texas in the counselling center, so you might check here for info- the psychologist in charge of the program might be willing to answer some questions: http://www.coe.unt.edu/chec/aat/ The website has useful stuff on it.

The best known organization for AAT is the Delta Society, which also certifies service and assistance animals. They will have a lot of info: http://www.deltasociety.org/home.htm They also have the R.E.A.D program for dogs that sit with kids while they learn to read to encourage reading.

Another popular organisation is the Therapy Dogs International at http://www.tdi-dog.org/ They have good info, too.

I run a NARHA facility- North American Riding for the Handicapped Association. Feel free to email me or go to the NARHA website. It's very informative and gives details on procedures.

Also another good one is Angels on Leashes- which is canine assisted therapy.

there is not any such difficulty as "black magick" and "white magick" in basic terms the way that the practicioner practices it. Magick itself is the bending of the energies that exist already in the international to help regulate the end results of something, particulairly on your want. I genuinely have had my fulfillment; I did a working to help motivate me and get my ingenious juices flowing, and because then, I genuinely have felt that impression, and that i like it.
