Prices dropped long before the election (August). They stayed down for months after the election. The normal pattern is for prices to drop after labor day & rise in the spring. This time, both events happened earlier than expected, bur had nothing to do with the election. If politicians controlled prices, they would always be low. If oil cos controlled prices they would always be high.

why must everyone chalk gas up to a conspiracy. Find some way of looking back at Gas price rates. We are getting into the warmer months; this means more people will be using their AC (which uses gas). the more gas that is used, the higher the demand. the higher the demand, the higher the price. Stop complaining about the gas prices and use public transportation, carpool, etc. The president doesn't set the price of gas.

It's the rise in crude oil prices per barrel, plus Wall Street is going crazy again. It's a coincidence. Gas prices just 'began' to rise in our state again. The oil companies here are putting steam pressure into the older wells getting them to produce more oil so we're not so dependent on the foreign oil. Congress finally lifted the ban so they can try to pump more out of the ground.
Geesshhh, is everyone asleep around here? Sure sounds like it. ;>D

What I'd like to know is why they manufactured and sold a million gas guzzling SUV's .....and then jacked the price of gas up through the ceiling. Are the oil companies trying to enslave the American people by using gasoline?

*sigh*, Why were the prices the lowest they have been in a long time in the past few months?
Gas prices are controlled by supply and demand. Don't forget, we still havn't replaced the refinary lost in hurrican katrina (bush must have destroyed it)

Manipulation to what end? To help ensure victory for Republicans? Obviously, if that was the purpose, it failed!
