Hi,

The iTunes Music Library.xml / iTunes Library.itl files were overwritten by iTunes somehow, with no data.

Is there a way to re-create these file based on my ipod?

Thanks,
Trent.

if you can mount the ipod as a disk, you can pull the files back!

there are lots of programs that do it. http://versiontracker.com has many listed that will reverse-sync the files back to your pc or mac! You can also do it manually by skipping over the hidden directories on the ipod disk.

Before you do that, make sure they were actually overwritten. I had this same thing before, and I couldn't find any freeware solutions that worked for me, so I bought TuneTools by Valusoft. It's a crappy program, but it gets the job done.

Before you do that though, hold shift when you load iTunes, and select the .itl files in your music folder, and make sure it didn't just change the location to My Videos or something like that, it tends to do that sometimes.
