I need at least ten concrete definitions for my college class. The examples I have so far is "Intimacy occurs between two people when you can share your fears with another person and know they will not lose respect for you." "Intimacy occurs between two people when you can share your deepest secrets without the fear of losing him or her." Lastly, "Intimacy is when you can be sick in front of another person and know that he or she still loves you even when seeing you at your worst." Please help me out here. I appreciate this. Absolute best answer with the most items I can use will get 10 points!

That's a tough one. I think intimacy occurs when you feel safe with another person, both emotionally and physically. I don't think you can have intimacy without trust. To me the greatest intimacy is knowing I can depend on another, and they can depend on me without fear. The ability to tell another person anything and know they won't use it against you. To know the person you are intimate with, be it physically or not, will never ever intentionally harm you. Basically to me it all boils down to trust.

the thing about "intimacy" and concreteness is that intimacy is not a concrete, it is an abstract. It boils down wholey into opinion.
Also, intimacy can occur between many more than just two people.
Intimacy, generally implies closeness, or a knowledge brought about by closeness. Of these interpretations of intimacy, there can be countless examples utilized.

I tend to think of intimacy in more of a physical level. It is when you are more than just hugging and giving a small kiss. When you start to french kiss or cuddle. That is when you become intimate.

Intimacy is when you have surpassed all superficial aspects of a relationship. Outward appearance no longer matters. Outside opinions of your mate hold no substance. All that is left is raw emotion. The love that you feel for your mate is so real that it is almost tangible.

you have reached true intimacy when you no longer need to speak to express yourself. When someone loves you enough to read your expressions, and follow through with your needs.
Also when you fart without worrying about it, that's a true sign too.
