I like to think that Millen hasnt been fired because he runs the lions like he use to run ford, no concept of what ahead, only concentrate on money for today. I think Ford makes a little cash from the franchise and just doesnt like to fire employees.

Millen hasn't been fired simply because THE FORDS DON'T CARE ABOUT FOOTBALL. To keep your job within the Lions organization, you have to befriend the Ford's. As long as they continue to pack Ford Field, winning won't be important to them.

this is a question only the fords know,millen is horrible,i did hear that he is good friend with the fords (obviously)and that he has this year to get it together and then the free ride is over

I really feel after last season - he should have been canned. If you are a GM and your team hasn't had a .500 season since you have been there - you are done.
I am totally convinced that Steve Mariucci got a bum deal and Millen should have been canned over him.

Wouldn't it be awesome for regular joes like you or me to completely suck at our job and know we couldn't get canned? That's how Bush, Cheney & Condi feel-just like Millen.
Millen has got to have some naughty pics of William Clay Ford doing the family dog or something to still be employed.
But Detroit did embarass my beloved Cowboys in wk. 17 last season....still trying to cope with that one.

I have no idea...Loyalty can only go so far in business when your business is based on ticket sales and merchandise sales, which go way down obviously when you can't get a winning team on the field...
