Always. Researchers say that having a male father figure around has a great impact on a female's self-esteem. I never had the ideal childhood, or the memorable father daughter chats, but I still love him with all my heart. It's normal to want him around, after all- they are a part of us.

it depends on what kind of dad you've got....my dad is a womanizer & never lift a finger to get a job..spend all his inheritance with women, friends, bar hopping & golf - spend for my schooling for 2 semesters....after that..no more, but he's a very sweet & caring dad....well, during my younger days i dont want him around now, i want him to be around for my children's sake because he can be a good grandgrandfather but never been a good father. lastly, maybe simply because i learned to forgive him & accept what he is ;>

No, he drinks too much and never talked to me much when he was around. I have a cool stepdad though, I talk to him everyday.

No... Mine turned into an a** hole... He has not talked to me for about a year because he hasn't wanted to... And he left me for 14 years of my life...
