what can this hard drive do for me?

Think of it as a computer. Without your hard-drive you can not store any information. You can not save games, store music or videos, or even download games. I believe Xbox Live requires a hard-drive because it stores achievements and gamertag information and the such. A computer without a hard-drive is basically an empty shell. The Xbox 360 is a compact computer. I suggest you get the hard-drive if you plan to do any serious gaming. Here is the basic information and a little extra:

The middle is amazingly stripped down compared to the different SKU's because it does no longer comprise a confusing stress (a reminiscence unit will favor to be bought to maintain video games and such), would not comprise a head set, ethernet cable, ingredient cables, and there is not any loose month of Xbox stay gold, and the controller is stressed. the in reality distinction between the Elite and the genuine classification, with the exception of the colour, is the dimensions of the confusing stress (120 GB Elite vs 20 GB genuine classification) and the Elite has a seperate TOSLINK and RCA out cable. There are genuine classification Xbox 360s that do have a HDMI out port, as those were performing at the moment. seek for the HDMI variety on the kit.

It can save your game data without having to buy a memory card. And also you have to have a hard drive to play on xbox live and store alot of updates and such on the hard drive.

supposedly it is to save you progress on different games, but i bet it can be modded to actually burn games to the hard drive. same with the ps3. in my opinion the new game systems are very overrated. blue ray for the ps3 c'mon who is actually going to use their ps3 as a dvd player. the 360 doesn't even have a hi def player, you have to buy is seperatly and it's only another $200 for it!!!

it is worth it. You don't have to buy memory cards, which can get lost and it lets you do the x-box live.
