Common sense - as an adjective, common sense, is what people in common would agree:

Common Sense - that which they "sense" in common as their common natural understanding.

So for me its something i would know - sense - that is common. Like dont put your hand in the fire, it will hurt.
This isnt a sense like smell, touch, see.

This is something that is taught, or learnt.
Not everyone has common sense.

common sense doesn't mean anything. years ago, people used common sense to prove the world was flat. there is often some reason involved, but not always much.

common sense is merely communal sense. it's the sense of the vulgar and identifies unthinking agreement.
