you can't protest, because you say it kills the solders... you can't leave, because that would be losing and we can't lose...

theoretically... what if we were in a bad war that was doing nothing more than wasting resources, in your opinion? could you even oppose it and be consistent with the beliefs you say you believe in on here?

or... once we start fighting... you can't question it anymore and you have to support it... no matter what the possible cost... or reasons... or what may happen because of it?

did I mention this war? no...

it's hypothetical...

or... is it even possible for a Republcian to be against a war? no matter how poor the rationale is behind it... or it's execution... or the reason for it... maybe they will just always support it?

and what book do you want me to read... I've read many...

todays Republicans are not those of the 30s... far, far, far from it... changed so much, they should have just changed the name... Bush signed CAFTA for Christ sake...

I'm asking todays Republicans... tell me when you find one that would say he would be against WWII now... it would be almost impossible...

well... perhaps I over generalized...

but no one has answered the question yet...

"war to end all wars"... hahaha... thanks for the laugh...clearly someone is a genius here

Edit: I ask this question because I see time and time again Republicans saying that being against the war (or at least vocalizing being against a war) kills soldiers and they use evidence from other wars... implying that all wars are the same...

so... I guess I was just wondering where the burden was here and to what degree people believe this... and if you were against the war.. .how would you show it... and try to stop it...

I've heard this from several Republcians... not all granted... but quite a few...

it's called a hypothetical... basically something you just make up in your mind to explore your beliefs to test their validity in all circumstances... you wouldn't want to flip flop on your entire political thought process, just because you didn't think it through ... would you

Oh no...you are going to hurt their little brains.

Way too much thinking for them...they prefer to be told how to behave and react.

They like cute little catch phrases, like flip-flopper, cut-and-runner, etc....try using those next time, easier for them to understand, ya know.

What would happen??? Probably nothing. Why would you ask such a question? There are Democrats who are against the war...any war...big time, but what did the democratic people do?

What would you expect us to do? I'm really not getting this. What you've done is create a non-existent war and would we go fight? If we were wasting resources, I would be against it, most certainly. Especially if it's for nothing.

You also said something about 'you didn't say this war.'... so I'm thinking you're just making one up in your mind.

Lots of people, even Republicans are against wars; but things happened...just like 9/11, just like the Japanese bombing Pearl Harbor. I mean WWII...was just that. A world war because we were fighting against the Japanese, then Hitler, trying to save Poland and France. So, what's the difference, because Franklin Roosevelt was a Democrat. It was a worldwide conflict fought between the Allied Powers and the Axis Powers, from 1939 until 1945. Armed forces from over seventy nations engaged in aerial, naval and ground-based combat. Spanning much of the globe, World War II resulted in the deaths of over 62 million people, making it the deadliest conflict in human history. The war ended with an Allied victory.

The Iraq war will not claim as many lives...but as far as just any war?, for NO reason...Nope...can't support it.

All Republicans support no one thing universally, stop generalizing and seeping deeper into the leftist cults theories. Get a mind of your own. And this particular war is a war to end all wars if you have common sense you would know that. The Evil needs to be stamped out so our children do not have to deal with it genius. Look at all conflict present day in The Sudan. the Middle East and the list goes on and on. The source of the conflict are Islamist militants being savage and killing those not like themselves you genius. Yuck.

G - if you pay attention to your history books, you will know that the Republicans did not support a war with Germany in the 1930s. Republicans were isolationists and thought the U.S. should stay out of Europe. The result ... World War II and 65 million dead people (most of them women, children and other civilians).

Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it!

Well I consider myself a Republican and I have to say that I have my own mind. I am free to think whatever I want. I do not feel this war is bad. I feel that it was inevitable. It had to happen eventually and I am personally glad that Iraq is free of a leader who would murder hundreds of thousands of his own people because they didn't like his leadership. I do think it's time to put an end to it, regardless of what it takes. Our boys need to come home.

I think you should open a book and attempt to read it before you come on yahoo making generalized statements.
