my system has: 1 (1 free) PCI Express x16, 1 (1 free) PCI Express x1, 2 (1 free) PCI, 4 (2 free) Memory DIMM 240-pin, 1 (0 free) Processor LGA775 Socket

does this mean i have 2 pci express x16 slots and only 1 is free?

There r 3 variety of video cards that u can purchase ,, please tell us what type of slot do u have, The fastest is the PCI-E video card, then AGP video card and then standard PCI video card. U can look inside ur computer or try to get the specs for ur model. If u decide to look inside ur computer, then the regular PCI slot is white, AGP slot is brown and PCI_E slot is black.

you have a pci-express x16 slot in there....any ati or nvidia x16 card will work fine....shop around for what card you like at the money you want to spend
