The internet is a funny thing you know. You can't trust it most of the time.

If a person (especially female) gets UTI's frequently, it'd be nice to find out what's causing it. There must be a reason.

But to fix it for now, here are two bits of advice that sometimes prove effective.

1. increase water. You should drink 1/2 x ounces of water per day where x is your weight in lbs. if you weight 200 lbs, that means you should drink 100 oz. water. Dehydration is one of the leading contributing factors to UTI formation.

2. Cranberry juice works ... but be careful! Most "Cranberry" juice isn't really cranberry juice. Ocean spray makes it worse. Buy organic cranberry juice and make sure it's unsweatened (no "high fructose corn syrup"). Sugar will feed the bacteria. Natural cranberry juice doesn't taste great.

Be sure to chose a "best answer".

just simply drink some cranberry juice, it is nature's remedy for clearing up the urinary tract, they give it to all the residents in nursing homes where UTI's are really a big thing

Typical of a dr to try and sound all smart and what not, i am simply giving my answer from personal experience, i have had several utis in my life and they all ocurred from drinking carbonated beverages, uti's can also be caused by getting bacteria in the urinary tract (i.e. wiping upwards away from the anus instead of towards it) I just had to justify that i did actually know what i was talking about and it didnt matter wether i am a dr or just a cna

I've never heard of this product but I would check with the dr to be on the safe side.

The best way to prevent a UTI is to keep hydrated by drinking lots of water.

For UTI if you think you have one pls talk to your dr and they will check to see if you have one.

And ask them if it's ok to take cranberry juice. People with certain bladder conditions often should not drink cranberry juice and such because of it being acidic.

There is now an over the counter medicine. I had one about a month ago...my sister brought it to me. 2 days of pills and it's gone. One of the big brands makes it....it's in with the women's products in the grocery stores. My first dose I started feeling a little better. I don't know about the internet stuff....this is only like $6 or $7 and I know it works.
