I think what you want to do is solve the second equation and plug back into the first equation.

-3u + 1 = 4, Notice that you have one unknown and one equation therefore it can be solved.

-3u = 3 thus u = -1

Plug this into your first equation.

2(-1)+3 = -2+3 = 1

Solving the second equation for u,
-3u + 1 = 4
-3u = 3
u = -1
Substituting into the given expression,
2u + 3 = 2(-1) + 3 = -2 + 3 = 1
2u + 3 = 1

-3u+1 = 4

-3u = 4-1 = 3

u = 3/ -3 = -1

Substituting in the other expression 2u + 3,

2 X -1 + 3 = 1

So 2u + 3 = 1

You did not consider the sign for u.

2u + 3 --- (1)
-3u + 1 = 4 --- (2)
From (2),
-3u + 1 = 4
-3u = 4 -1
-3u = 3
u = 3 / -3
u = -1
Substitute u = -1 into (1),
2u + 3 = 2 (-1) + 3
= -2 + 3
= 1

Noooooo...... You have a numerical value for u so you should wind up with a number. If -3u+1=4,
u=-1. So substituting, 2(-1)+3 = 1

-3u + 1 = 4
-3u = 4 -1
-3u = 3
u = 3 : -3
u = -1
Substitution:
2(-1) +3 = -2 + 3 = 1

by given expression -3u + 1 = 4 we get,
u = -1
usin this in 2u + 3,
we get the value of expression is 1
so the answer is 2u + 3 = 1
Note:- i think ur maths is very weak.
woprk hard to improve ur maths otherwise u will be in get difficulty if u choose maths in higher classes.

are those 2's meant to be a squared, or is it merely multiplying by ability of two? plug in for a and b (a million/4)2 + (-3/4) - 2(a million/4)(-3/4) a million/2 - 3/2 - 2(a million/4)(-3/4) -a million + 3/8= -5/8 this is if those 2's propose squared a million/sixteen - 9/sixteen - 3/8= -7/8
