I had blisters on the backs of both my ankles, around my achilles. One went away without me noticing, but the other was not so easy. I popped it using a sharp ring and when I did, this water-like stuff (or maybe it was water, I'm not sure) came out. What the hell was it, and should I be worried?

No, that's a liquid that would have helped it heal, what you have to watch out for now is infection because the skin underneath is raw. Keep it covered with a band-aid to help keep it clean and from getting irritated.

You should also work on buying shoes that fit correctly or take it easy until they are broken in.

to correct the commenter above me it was not pus because pus is thick and white, not "water-like" and you need to put some antibiotic ointment on it (neosporin) and a band aid to keep infection out, you should not intentionally pop blisters because they can develop infection which then is when you would get pus, lol

Nothing to worry about.
Its just a blister.

An effective method (but slightly painful) add a dab of iodine to your blister wound, it will hurt, but the wound will be dried quicker.

cheers
