Is it ok to wear a brand new pair of 7 jeans? Or should I go with my nice capri slacks? (interviewing for fashion jewelry dept)

You only get one chance to make a first impression.
I am an HR manager and I would rule out anyone that showed up in jeans for an interview. Nordstrom's may be a fashion forward company but they are pretty traditional in their selection of employees. You should be wearing a suit or at the very least slacks with a business style blouse and blazer. Hose of some sort and NO SANDALS. That is if you want the job of course!

Navy blue suit, crisp white shirt. That is the most aggressive interview outfit, and best perceived by potential employers.

Dressiest outfit, not jeans. Preferably a dress!
