And how old are you? You need to be keeping all that feeling stuff to yourself and not starting things that aren't age appropriate. I mean it. this is a kid with hormones that are in his brain and he will talk stuff to you and he will try to change you forever...really take my word for it. At 16 boys have one thing on their minds and it isn't love or a long term relationship. So, don't even go there. Please. Don't go with the crowd and feel like having a boyfriend makes you special, it gets you into trouble and way too soon. I am soo sorry I am talking to you this way but, I love you girl, my girls were hard to raise and it's even tougher today with all the stuff on TV and what is expected of you, what the videos are portraying for young girls to act like. It's just not right. You are a baby and you need to do school work, get into school activities and spend time with your family and friends, not girls that are boy crazy either, find a good friend that you can just hang out with and have fun for a few more years, then it will be OK to start to date, not yet, too soon. The gift isn't that important, if he is a friend he will like whatever you give him. Maybe a CD of his favorite music, a nice shirt or hat if he wears them, fashion is the thing these days, maybe some team he likes, whatever. You know what you can afford. But, keep him as a friend, if it goes any place else you will loose his friendship and a lot more, believe me. It's not worth it. Good night baby girl.

Tickets to a basketball game, Food...but see guys don't know about the hidden meanings behind what girls do...You best chance is to actually tell him you like him as more than a friend.
Girls forget that guys don't speak in code (they don't say one thing and mean something else) so they never look for hidden meanings in gifts.
Just get him something that the two of you can do together and do more than once. Video games, movies, paintball guns (you're going to have help buying those), sports stuff, music...movie pass...take him out to lunch...

I would make him something. It shows you care more than just going out and buying something. Or buy something that brings back a memory of something you two did together. Just think from the heart.
Think a photo album.
Collect all his fav. songs on a CD.
Get tickets to his fav. band.
Get a movie that anyone else would think is stupid but you two get.

Find out what he really loves and go with that, as long as it;s in your budget. If not, instead of buying him something, why don't you do something special for him that would let him know that you really gave it much thought and preparation. Or maybe you can give him a surprise bday party!

Find out what video game system he has...then get him whatever game just came out that week. Nothing says love like the lastest PS3 release.
But if you want spark romance....take him out for his b-day and make it a nice date. Guys don't admit this but they like to be spoiled. hehe!

Maybe a special bottle of cologne....one that you know he really likes. or one that you really think would smell good on him. Scent is very personal. You could always ask to smell it once he spashes a little on his neck and nuzzle him just a little!
