It depends. If there was a chance to find the owner, I'd look for the owner... like if I found it on the floor in a store, I'd ask the people nearby if it was theirs.

If it was in a situation where it was pretty darned unlikely I'd find the owner, like walking down a busy street or on the seat of a bus or something, I'd keep it, but I'd probably donate it to one of a couple of different charities I like to support.

first i'd try to find if there was anyone around who may have lost it. if not then...

i might do a variety of things...

1. treat my hubby to lunch
2. go buy a mt dew and a cosmo
3. buy more toys for my kitty
4. stuff it in my pocket and end up forgetting about it and finding it later
5. pay my best friend back for some of the stuff shes done for me lately!!!1

who knows.. depends on where i am and what i want at the moment

Ask any people around if they think they dropped any money (but not tell them the denomination I found).

If no one claimed it, I'd either spend it, or give it to someone who looked like they needed a pleasant surprise that day.

it's a small sum but give it to the proper authorities to handle it. it's dishonest if you take the money and spend it. invest it in something that helps the community at least, if you're going to take it. and to tell someone that it's just money doesn't mean that there are poor people in the world that need it to feed their families. ethically if I were poor i would take it to feed my family, but i wouldn't spend it on "frivilous crap"

I'd frickin' retire. Kidding. Really... it's only $20, so I guess I'd get some diapers, cereal and a couple of frozen pizzas... maybe some juice.

If you found it in a place where you know everyone, ask around to see if any one has lost it. Otherwise congratulations.

Put it in my wallet and save it for a rainy day. My cash tends to stay with me for weeks without being spent, so this'll be a bonus.
