When i try to put my windows 2000 on standby I cannot turn it on. It press the monitor button but the screen remains black. I pressed escape and clicked my mouse it still didn't work. My monitor was on and when i turned it off and back on nothing still happened.

Well, turning on your monitor won't work anyways... You need to go into the settings and make sure to set the keyboard and mouse as the devices that can wake your comp up.

Its a virus. I had the same problem. Youre gonna need to reprogram our whole computer. At least thats what I was told and did.

There is actually a patch from microsoft that fixes this. try downloading all updates and patches.
