Or do you think they don't mind as long as they're in water and get food?

I mean do you think it's just about SURVIVAL to them...and if they get that, then they're good? Or do you think they'd want more? Like being back in the lake/ocean?

probably like people, there is a deep feeling in side wondering if there is more to life. Most fish are born in a tank so they couldn't know an ocean, and then sold you know.
Just a thought!!!

If the fish never experienced the rivers, lakes, or the oceans it's not gonna know any better so it won't mind. You've never been in outer space so you don't know how cooped up we are on Earth.

Sitting and looking at the fish tank beside me, i would say keeping with the environment -
(plants growing warm water dirt looking rocks).
I dont think they would know any different.

Although it dose make for a good argument do they feel different for the pink rocks and a purple castle fish tanks.
Again i feel they might not know the difference.

But i personally like to make them feel more at home.
Like a mini terrarium with plants and fishes and frogs. making it look as natural as possible.
But Without predators and With food for there liking.

Well...I can't speak for other fish, but I think mine has it pretty good. He is a betta and we have given him a 10 gallon tank all to himself. He has a cage with 2 rats to one side of him and we eat our meals on the other side of him. He is pretty much in the center of our day to day life and seems happy.

Goldfish only have a attention span of 3 seconds. I don't worry about what they think... Bigger fish, like whales, I feel sorry for.

I think they mind but seeing as how their memory only lasts for three seconds I think they get over it pretty quickly

To care or to feel anything, something must be aware. As far as I know, fish are not. (Aware that is.)
