The 9/11 card? If it weren't for 9/11 we probably wouldn't be in the predicament we are today...he's doing all this to protect your butt...talk about biting the hand that feeds you...

Actually I've read the 9/11 Commission report...

Who was President before Bush? Thats right...Clinton. All the 9/11 commission report is about failures during the 1990's

2007-03-08 17:04:46 · update #2

haha...first of all, of the individuals responsible for 9/11, I don't think that ANY were from Afghanistan (Taliban harbored terrorists) , they were from all over the mid-east...second, Bush is playing catch up for the Military and Intelligence failures during the Clinton Administration that led to the attacks on 9/11...God forbid that a President be PROACTIVE instead of REACTIVE...

I am able to answer your question with some historical facts - but I am totally at a lost to explain why this is so:

The liberals seem to want to return to our policies of inaction and no effective response - the exact same policies that allowed the terrorists to plot and initiate the complex plans that culminated in the events of 9/11.

The liberals want to use diplomacy and dialog with these radicals - the exact same policies that failed miserably when Carter tried to negotiate for the release of American hostages in Iran - for fourteen long months.

Every single time we failed to respond effectively to the indiscriminate terror and murder perpetrated by these dirt bags against Americans all over the globe, it only resulted in more terror and murder.

They seem to have forgotten the adage about those who forget history..............

Forget jogging anyone's memory, you need a reality check. New flash: George Bush admits Iraq and Hussein had nothing to do with 9/11.

Bush made a terrific speech, promised justice, and gave us all the feeling we could count on him. We began to fight the good fight against the terrorists in Afghanistan. Then, Bush's obsession with Iraq became the priority. Al Queda was not in Iraq. The most they'd done there was flit around the western border messing with Hussein's head - he hated them. But yes, Mr. Bush DID use the 9/11 card. He used all of our grief and rage and played it perfectly so we had the illusion that going into Iraq was just another way of going after the terrorists - it wasn't. Not one reason that Bush gave for going to war in Iraq turned out to be true, not one. Except of course the toppling and capture of Saddam Hussein, which was his main goal to begin with - Iraq was NEVER about the terrorists.

Now it is, because they've poured over the borders of Iraq. Now we have an extended area that we have to fight them in. Great job Bush.

Any President would have had our hearts, minds, and our approval during that terrible period after 9/11. We would have looked to any sitting President to comfort us and tell us this would be revenged. That's a natural reaction to any tragedy on that scale. And any sitting President would have given a rousing speech and been just as outraged as President Bush was. For all the mistakes I think he has made, I didn't then, nor do I now find him to be insincere in the days after 9/11. But he was the one who needed to remember, and focus, instead of getting sidetracked in Iraq.

EDIT: The terrorists were mostly Saudis, but they trained and were sheltered in Afghanistan. Before you start chuckling at the ignorance of others perhaps you should check your facts. Clinton practiced a policy of containment. It also appears to have been working just fine, since no WMDs were found. Every time a Bush bot can't make a point on Bush's own merits they stoop to invoking the all powerful name of Clinton. It must really irk all of you to no end that his approval ratings are double what your hero Bush's are right now. But it doesn't help any of your cases to focus on Clinton when you can't get around the enormous mistakes that Bush has made.

Bad short term memory? Not on your life pal. When Bush invaded Afghanistan he had the support of everybody in the world. I was behind the move all the way. So what happened? Need I go into detail about how many times he lied to fit the next part of his made up agenda? Tell me, why are the Taliban surging again? Who dropped the ball and forgot all about who was responsible for 9/11? Who invaded a country that had nothing to do with 9/11? And i bet you shake your head in disgust every day wondering why Bush's approval rating is at 30% huh? Wait, its the libs fault right? By the way, did you know that during Clinton's impeachment's proceedings his approval rating was at 70%. I bet that just chaps your hide.

that's right, Clinton let the bin ladens fly out on 9/11, Clinton sealed 28 pages of the 9/11 commission report by executive order. Clinton had warrant-less wiretaps initiated. Clinton was the dumbass who stirred up a global jihad. Clinton's VP makes 1.5 mil from halliburton /KBR. Clinton spends 38 billion dollars a month over seas while people in pearlington, MS have been living in tents since Katrina. It's all Clinton's fault. George is a savant, the 2nd coming...spare me

get off youtube... read the 9-11 report...

then you'll be scared because you'll realize that we've done little to stop the terrorists that attacked us... and we ran off and focused on a county that had nothing to do with 9-11... in other words... YOU FORGOT....

I remember OSAMA... remember him?

every other Republican I know forgot him?

when you START going after the people mentioned in the 9-11 report... then you'll show me that you actually remember 9-11 and those who died...

I've been waiting about 3 years.. .and you've been a HORRIBLE DISAPPOINTMENT and an embarassment to America... if you ask me...

EDIT: either you weren't paying attention... or didn't read it all... part of it is about the failures, granted, and I'm not saying there weren't any in BOTH ADMINISTRATIONS... but PART OF IT IS ABOUT WHO ATTACKED US AND THE LINKS THEY HAD... skip a few pages there? it's much more than just "It's Clinton's fault... FAR more than that..."

Well I am glad you asked. Yes and yes and yes. They are a thorn in the side of America and always will be. They should just pack up and go away. They are useless to this country which is called THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. They sway anyway the wind blows and hate anything right or moral. Also Bill Clinton lied to FBI and he did not go on trial as Libby has. They are a bunch of hypocrites that have no soul or conscience.

Short term memories??? what the hell are you talking about. We all remember 9-11 very vividly. We all remember that NO one from Iraq was responsible for it. We all remember that Bush's response to 9-11 was to attack Iraq. Where does that make any sense???? Please tell me. Please tell the world. We all want to know.

We also don't need much of a memory to know that he currently has one of the lowest approval ratings of any President in history. And that by the time he leaves office, he WILL HAVE the LOWEST approval rating in all of Presidential history.

That doesn't jog my memory at all. Osama bin Laden was behind 9/11 not Iraq, who had no terrorist! If he wanted to go after terrorist, why did he attack Iraq? We have been in a war for over 4 years, longer than WW II, with people who had NOTHING to do with 9/11!

Where is Osama bin Laden by the way?

Bush and his legion of followers, 33% approval rating, will never get over the fact that they can't scare people anymore.

Playing the 9/11 card everytime someone doesn't agree with your policy is a worn out scare tactic. Next question please.

If he'd gotten Osama (and produced his head for all to see), he'd still be well in the 60% range, in spite of the train wreck known as Iraq.
