I saw it on Adult Swim as a special. It was about a group of kids playing hide and seek in an old, run down section of a city. Apparently, kids go there to play hide and seek there every so often. If fact, one of the kids is there because his sister vanished in the last game, and he is trying to find her.

Anyway, as they are playing, several of the demon statues in this city come to life and start hunting down the children. Not bloody, but it was intense and well done, with a good blend of standard and computer animation.

I think it is Kakurenbo- meaning Hide and Seek in Japanese.
If you are talking about the one where the main character is named Hikora and the missing sister is Sorincha, then that's this show.
I've seen it before, too.
Here's a site for more information:

animation that the JAPANESE does.. haha!!=)

Anime (アニメ, Anime? IPA pronunciation: /anime/ listen (help·info) in Japanese, but typically /'ænI,me(I)/ or /'ænə,me(I)/ in English) is an abbreviation of the word "animation". Outside Japan, the term most popularly refers to animation originating in Japan. To the West, not all animation is considered anime; and anime is considered a subset of animation.

While some anime is hand drawn, computer assisted animation techniques have become quite common in recent years. Like any entertainment medium, the story lines represent most major genres of fiction. Anime is broadcast on television, distributed on media such as DVD and VHS, and included in video game. Additionally, some are produced as full length motion pictures. Anime often draws influence from manga, light novels, and other cultures. Some anime storylines have been adapted into live action films and television series.
