I just got a Marantz CDR310 CD Recorder today. I followed the instruction for pre-setting the record function to stereo - and the display says "stereo" - but when I burn my CD and play it back on my stereo CD player - it only comes out of one speaker. Any thoughts on what could be wrong?

Check your connections both on your player and your recorder. Make sure both the red and white RCA connectors are fully inserted on the source and the CD recorder, plus the CD player as well. If the player is hooked up correctly (test with another CD) and you are only hearing out of one speaker, this means that the CD IS recorded in stereo, just that you're missing one of the input channels on the source as a mono CD will still come out of both speakers, just with the same audio out of both. Provided your speakers are correct in left and right placement, if the left audio is missing, check the white RCA's on the recorder and source. If the right audio is missing, check the red RCA's on the recorder and source.
