Funny you should ask this, but mine actually expired a few weeks ago. I'm a diabetic so have to renew it every three years, but I am allowed to drive again once they confirm they've received my application even if it's expired. It just so happens that the day after I sent them my application, someone else decided to send them a letter bomb, which slowed things down a bit (as these things do). Then on the day my license finally expired I phoned them to confirm if they'd received my application, and got an automated response:
"We're sorry, but due to industrial action the office is closed for the day, please phone again tomorrow."
So I did. Automated response again:
"We're sorry, but the office is closed for the day due to the snow. Please phone again tomorrow."
So I did. This time I got through to an operator only to learn that they couldn't find my application. Grrrr.
I eventually got my new license, but I had to go for a week without being allowed to drive. True story! I'm beginning to understand why the guy letter-bombed them in the first place.

nope I Know I have until my 21st birthday (less then a yr away) but I'll be sad when I have to get a new one... I have a Hawaii one right now and when it expires I'll have to get an Oklahoma one! :o(
