No, I'm not a child molester, or a perv. I'm just an out of touch Dad that just got out of re-hab. I got my kids for the weekend. Any fun ideas, that aren't expensive. Because flying to Disney Land is out of the question. Thanks. Oh, by the way, this is from Canada, and it's cold & crappy out, so cheap, inexpensive, indoor idea's would be best.

I have two daughters who are exactly the same age. Go to the book store and buy a book on paper airplanes. Help them fold them. They love this. You can launch them inside, or go outside on a windy day and let the wind take them off up to the sky. My girls did this for 4 hours one day in Maryland. Had a blast. Also, you can just get them some little bird houses at a craft store or home improvement store. They are precut and they can put them together with little nails. Tell them they can paint them and when spring comes, you will put them in the yard and they can have bird feeders, houses, to watch all the birds from. Have fun!!

How about some arts and crafts things? Bake cookies, or do an online search for different craft ideas. There are kits you can buy from craft, art or toy stores, where they can make their own jewelry or different things like that. Or maybe teach them to do something new. Some of my best memories are learning how to whistle, and play checkers from my grandfather. Paper dolls. I used to cut out paper dolls (just pics of celebs and other people) from magazines, and then make shoebox houses for them. i would cut out furniture from different magazines. It was a lot of fun.
Make sock puppets and a theater then put on a show- or write a story or play together then act it out, or make a film, then have them get dressed up, make popcorn and hold a premiere for it, using their stuffed animals as the audience.

congrats of getting out of rehab.
so proud of you!
xD

best way to go out
in a cheap, indoor way
is to go to the movies.
since they`re 7/9,
PG movies would be good.
i really don`t know if you should take them
into a PG-13 or R rated movie.
but stick to the appropiate.
and maybe take them to a place they really like.
(we`re talkin eating places)
maybe mcd`s or burger king.
if you want to be in the house,
play dress up (girls)
play toys with them,
watch a cartoon together.
board games are fun.
have a little dance-off.
and nap. (my fav. part)

hope that answers all your questions!

Movies (child-appropriate), if you have them are always good.

Anything crafty: beads, construction paper, paint, markers, even macaroni. You'd be amazed what a pre-tween girl can make with that stuff.

The best bet would be to ask them. They're probably just glad to have Dad back.
