They get paid. If they are in Iraq or combat, they don't pay taxes either. That's more money. They get good home loans. They get preferential treatment when applying for government jobs. If they stay 20 years, they get a CHECK FOR LIFE. You can retire before you are 40 years old and take home a check for over $1000 a month. At 40!!! Disability payments don't get taxed. VA health care for life if they are injured while serving. (quality of that is another question)

Plus they are all volunteers (God Bless em) so they know the score. It's not called "serving" your country for nothing. That's why they get our respect too.

1. Adiquate compensation for injuries and damage as a result of military service.
2. Fix the VA medical system.
3. Decent pay and benefits while on active duty. Most military are dramatically underpaid-figure the paychecks represent 24 hours of service and you get the picture.
4. As military service detracts from your earning potential and work in the civilian world, you would need compensation to assist in getting back into the swing of things-educational benefits, health care and so forth are necessary for this.

These will work for starters

They get a paycheck...that is the reward. THere are some really fine soldiers out there, but the majority are people who couldn't cut it in school or hated school and went that route, because it's a good job, not because they are all about fighting for others and the country.

by giving them respect, taking care of them when they need help, and good medical care as long as they need it,the guys from around here have to go at least a 6 hr drive for hospital, and so much red tape they should only need a credit like card and that should get them care in any hospital, meds they need, like one central link to there benefits

They shouldn't have to pay taxes. And they shouldn't be in an endless war
