after installation when i start gta san andreas dvd one on my pc the after the title screen it closes up and i am again back at the desktop

You could try reducing your screen resolution.
start > control panel > display > settings tab.... and reduce.
Alternatively maybe this: (at your own risk ofc)

This is a common problem with this game, go to your My Documents folder and find the folder labelled something like "SA User files" It will contain all your saved games along with another file, i cant remember the exact name but it's pretty noticible, simply delete that and run the game, it will restore the resolution to 1024 x 769, happens all the time with people don't worry about it.

I completed GTA SA last year. Last month I installed GTA 3 which I just completed again... and am now doing SA again. I'm currently stuck on the forklift truck/box mission. Gonna go back to it and try again.
