I need ideas for a new hobby. I go to college and I work so I need something to get my mind off the real world in the time I have at home. Usually I just play video games, but that is starting to get old for me, and my very limited budget is making it hard to buy new video games. Here are the basic requierments of what I'm looking for:
-I want something that doesn't feel like I'm doing homework.(So don't suggest learning a new language please lol)
-I want something that can be done on a shoe-string budget.(So collecting anything is out of the question)
-I don't have much dexterity. So that limits the amount of physical skills that I can work on.(Don't suggest juggling)
-I don't like working out. I don't find it fun at all.

take up bellydancing, it often is free for lessons if you join a performing troupe, and they will help you out with learning and costume ideas if you really get into it, its a little like working out but lots more fun , makes you feel sensual, doesnt require a lot of stuff, lots of the gals will share music on cds or tapes too, you could try knitting or crochet, or maybe simple sewing. how about bead stringing , some jewelry isnt hard to do and once you get the hang of it you will find out more and more things you can get the hang of in the way of jewelry, If you have a Michaels store or a joanns store near you you can go in and look at the stuff they have and get some ideas. you can make a necklace for a couple of dollars thats cute and you can work up to much fancier stuff. I do beading, wire work, macrame, embroidered and plastic grid needlepoint to make jewelry. I make something and wear it a couple of times then someone wants to buy it right off my neck and i just go make two more of them.

What about something to do with the internet, like, making a webpage about yourself or with tips for the games you like to play, or keeping a blog? They can be fun things to do without being physical, but they do get you thinking...

Scrapbooking (I know, how 90's) but it can be fun. And very cheap if you just use old pieces of wrapping paper or things you find outside, you actually don't need photots really, you can collect things and create your own sort of book about your life and your memories. I do it and its fun...

Ebay! I know it sounds dumb, but if you are getting sick of the games you have to play you can try to sell them on ebay and then buy new ones there... its not exactly a hobby but its addictive.

Good luck finding something...

Geocaching! All around you, people have hidden stuff for you to find. Some of them are big Tupperware containers full of trade items. Others are tiny little containers with only enough room for a slip of paper to sign your name. You do need a handheld GPS unit to find them, they run anywhere from $80.00 on up. Geocaches can be in the woods where you have to hike, or right downtown.

how about building models there are many types to choose from cars, planes and ships to name a few. small ones aren't too expensive and they have easy to hard so you can build skill. some are even unpainted so at some point you could learn to paint. my sons like to build them because of the variety and if you don't get it done right away you can put it up and get to it later. they are in late teens early 20's.

I like to find rocks that are laying out.
I enjoy it because alot of minerals in rocks change the texture, color, ect.
And it's not much physical work either.
