alright so im trying to find cool places to visit but not your typical tourist type places. by that i mean, i want to go to pairs but not climb the Eiffel Tower or walk through the Louvre, i would rather go check out the local galleries or climb a tower in a castle or a hill at a near by park. But not even on an international spectrum, here in the states i would liketoknow about little know places. The kind of places that the locals know about but aren't published in all your "welcome center" travel guides.

Cassadaga, FL. It's really cool. or Fell's Point in Baltimore. Totally different. Rock State Park in MD. It has the King & Queens seat and locals go there to swim in the river. Or rock climb. Blue Springs Park or Gemini Springs park in FL. Both are really cool.

Internationally, Gimmelwald, Switzerland and Dalat, Vietnam are the best, not-too-touristy places I've been.

In the States, visit Big Bear, CA.

Best way I know of is by knowing a local.

A friend,
a relative,
a friend of a friend,
a business contact,
a church contact,
a fraternal organization contact,
a travel club contact,
a pen pal...

There are several ways of making preliminary contact.
