Every time someone talks of the newer Star Wars movies they say the main problem is the dialogue and the lack of good in it.

What do they mean? I dont understand what these people dont like.

To me the movies were very well done.. ive been following SW since 1970's when the first one came out.

please someone tell me what do you mean by bad dialogue.

because to me it makes no sense.

a good plot to have a good dialogue..

have you ever seen Ep 4-6? its called Star Wars. and 1-3 are about Darth Vader..

some people remind me of the guy who right after Ep 1 came out, asked where Han, Leia, and Luke were.

Lets start with Obi-Wan's line about "Not another pathetic lifeform." This was really an arrogant stance for a Jedi, let alone being from one of the best loved characters in all of filmdom. The line going without even a rebuke left me bitter about Episode 1.

Next, let's look at "Midiclorians." I don't know about you, but I just liked the idea of Force as being its own-not some parasite microbe that infects all sentient life. The only thing worse than the concept was the explination we get in Episode 1.

Next, lets examine why people hate Jar-Jar Binks. My guess is its because his entire race speaks an annoying pidgeon English. I will grant that they probably use their native tongue more when humans aren't around; but who in Jar-Jar's comunity would speak Human on a regular basis? They are isolationists, remember? If we can have Ewoks and Wookies speaking in laguages not understood by humans, why do the Gungans have to speak Human?

Episode 2 had a lot of problems with dialogue, especially when Anikin tells Padme about killing the sand people. The script was alright but the delivery of it really killed the scene.

Lucas has always had trouble writing romantic dialogue. It is just not his strong suit. In Episodes 1,2,& 3 the love story plays a vital part. This is a large part of where the criticism comes from.

Do not believe them. People have their own opinions, but to most people, you just want to enjoy! People always say the effects and stuff were horible, who cares? Cant people just sit down and watch the movie anymore? Star Wars 1-6 were great movies! George Lucas started with 4 and called it Star Wars. He did not think he would have to make a new movie, but it got so popular, he called it A New Hope and called it 4, then 5, then 6. He used that order, because he wanted his movies to be different. Then, people would want to know what happened when Luke and Leia were born? How did Darth Vader start out? Where did Anikan Skywalker come from? So then movies 1-3 came out in the 2000s and now after Star Wars 3, Revenge of The Sith (My favorite of the set, I loved it!) came out, it was the official end of the movies. Other Star Wars Fans keep the story going and write Star Wars Books, a great idea!

I love all the movies but there are some pore lines in 1-3 especially episode 2, alot of the scenes with padame and anakin were cheesy, and hose puns were TERABILE
"she seems to be on top of things" (as padame climbs the collum
"This is shuch a drag" (as C3POs head is dragged
"I am quite beside myself" as his head lays beside his body,
that just wasn't nessecary
The only really bad line in 3 is "wait a minute how did this happen we're smarter than this" that is SO cheesy otherwise epsidoe 3s dialogue was pretty good. Especially the speaches with kenobi and anakin at the end
"it was sad that you wapuld destroy the sith not join them....." of course those scenes were greatly helped by John Williams awsome music. Oh yah, in episode 1 little anakin was the problem, man I hate him.

A lot of the lines are interpreted literally like a figure of speech would be interpreted literally. When Lucas created Star Wars, he interpreted it to become a space opera, and that is sort of what he created with the confusing sci-fi words in the dialogue. You have to keep in mind to that the originals where written in a whole different time period as the new ones were. The thing I like about the dialogue is that it is unique.

stephen k says George never could write good dialogue. Say what??

The Star Wars saga is 1 of, if not the most, famous movie series ever. It doesn't gain that status by being poorly written. I have no problems with any of the dialogue, 1-6. I'll always favor 4-6 over 1-3, but I love them all.

What the charactures are saying is really corny. Like jarjar binks for example. He got on my nerves throughout the whole ep.1. He was an uninteresting idiot with an annoying speech problem. Yodas dialogue, for instance, spoke to the truth that he was from another planet and as wise as he was he had his own way of speaking the language. Jar-Jar... was just an idiot.

When they mean is that the dialogue is clumsy and dense. George never could write good dialogue and it always sounds forced and contrived

What they are saying is that it is often cheesey, but if you look at 4-6 had the same type lines, but it was more in line with films of that time.

How would they continue it? There would have to be a good plot to have good dialog.
