Hi,

The loss of your mucus plug won't really have any bearing on how long you may labour or what your delivery will be like, sorry.

The mucus plug is lost when the cervix starts to dilate and simply can't hold it in any more, but this isn't specifically connected to anything else. Some women lose their mucus plug several weeks before actually going into labour, some women don't lose it until labour has actually started.

Losing it in a ceratin way or at a certain time doesn't govern a fast or slow delivery or a long or short labour.

Sorry if you were hoping it meant a short labour and easy birth!

But, you may indeed be one of the lucky ones!

Best wishes for your induction tomorrow.

Losing the mucous plug isn't an indicator of speed of delivery or whether delivery is imminent. It just means your body is getting ready, not that it absolutely is going to happen in a day or two.

Its ok if you lost your mucus plug, and since you are having an induction tomorrow they are going to break your water for you unless that has already happened and then they will give you a drug to help start your labor after all that it all depends on you and how your body reacts and moves the baby down. Good Luck. Hope that helped

No, there is no connection between the mucous plug and the length of your delivery. But squatting during delivery can speed things up! (my son was out with one push!)

I lost my mucus plug 4-6 weeks before i had my baby and my doctor said thats normal.
I was enduced at 39 weeks at 3 cm dilated. It depends on if your body is ready or not.

USUALLY AFTER THE MUCOUS IS SEEN IT IS BETWEEN ONE TO FOYR DAYS FOR THE BABY TO DELIVER, BUT DELIVERY IS ALL ON HOW YOUR BODY WORKS
