I think you might have a legitimate point. Some strategists probably do indeed believe that the subliminal connection will be enough to sway some votes when it counts. And you know what?

It will.

Americans remember small, trivial things, and usually don't look very deep at anything. These small trivial things make up a lot of what the typical American will remember, long term.

No one names their kid "Adolf" (or uses Hitler as a surname, either) anymore. Hussein is going to have similar connotations for years to come.

It's a little dirty, but it will cost Obama some votes. That's the truth.

Will it change the results of the election? Not likely. But, coupled with a dozen other things they'll throw out there, it'll add up. That's politics.

Yes they do think that mentioning this middle name of, "Hussein" will convince people that he is connected to Muslim terrorists, and you know what? There will be people who are the simple minded, and who will be gullible enough to believe these "right wings" in regards to Obama's name.

They mentioned the name Saddam Hussein in the same sentence as Osama Bin Laden enough times to have the majority of polled Americans convinced that the two were both implicable in the September 11th attacks, they will continue that successful strategy

Problem #1 Does the right wing actually think? Your premis is defeated there. They are simply repeating the slogans Rush and Faux News order them too. It is done more to convice themselves than anyone else.

Notice I didn't mention Obama, I don't consider him a viable candidate.

If Barack Hussein Obama is a radical terrorist, then the terrorist organization he belongs to is headed by Kareem Abdul-Jabar.

of course Republicans and Hillary Clinton think of that the call will remember, and reverberate interior the voters' ears as "an A-rab soundin' call", or they does not shop bringing it up. (purely like this way of large form of of the writers on Y!A Politics for the previous few days....) And, regrettably, i think of that it does remember to many, many citizens; it somewhat is been shown repeatedly, that our voters are uninformed, and in many situations vote in line with "seems" or preconceived "emotions" or call acceptance. (And, in Obama's case, they might "comprehend" his call as "that guy from I-rak") EDIT: study a number of those solutions, and you will see what I advise. Why might his call "develop flags"? (do not you think of if he replaced right into a terrorist he could be somewhat much less seen?) we at the instant are not "at conflict with Muslims". i'm not fairly specific WHO we are at replaced into with, in spite of if it actual is NOTall Muslims!! So what if he went to a Muslim college? I went to a Catholic college--does not advise I espouse Catholicism, does it? human beings do not even seem to be responsive to the version between the Muslim faith, and the fanatical politics of the Islamic radicals. those muddled-headed voters scare me greater advantageous than terrorists! ..

It is a way for right wing nuts to discredit him, there is a fear that he may become the first black man to become president and they will try to assassinate his character any way they can. Since he don't have a lot of baggage they will resort to childish name calling in order to accomplish this. I don't think it will work as the American people became wise to this tactic with the swift boat captains.

It is part of a fear technique. Even though people know Obama is a Christian they hope some how people will have just enough doubt to not vote for him. So far it is backfiring. The only ones who seem to care about Obama's middle name are the Cons.

No, I don't think so. Some of the Right will use it to stress "something," I'm not sure what. Most conservatives are going to take him on regarding his Liberalism. The Hussein stuff won't stick.

Here's what's actually kinda cool about it, Americans love an underdog, especially one who is perceived as being unfairly attacked, this may really blow so far up in their faces they'll need an eyebrow transplant, keep pickin' on the skinny kid and see if retribution doesn't come somewhere down the line, they may launch him to the nomination if this tactic backfires like I think it will
