Yes there are a few oblivious ppl running around still stating there were WMDs in Iraq even though Bush himself has stated otherwise now. They are blind followers that don't really want the truth...

I am inclined to think so. Saddam ruled a terrorist state and supported terrorists of other countries.
I am not surprised that the conflict has turned out more difficult than many expected, because Saddam was not at the root of the problem we are facing.
The Islamist threat is much more widespread. Iraq has become the center of conflict, because Pres. Bush has planned it that way. I don't know where it would have been if he had not taken the initiative.
However, I have no doubt whatsoever that the conflict would have grown worse, no matter what Bush did. I think he is aware of this, and decided to have some input into the location of the fighting.
The fighting won't stay there, of course, but it gives us time to prepare for what is coming.

Oh yes, yes, the fanatical Shia who are waiting in the wings like vultures to pick up what's left after Bush washes the blood from his hands and says "Well, I think our job here is done, now..."

You can see what the problem is when Donald Rumsfeld says, in a parting address that he thinks Iraqi Security should "pull up their socks". If that quote doesn't get an Alred E. Neuman trophy for Clueless Observation of the Year, what will?

Don, Iraqi Security ARE the death squads! How long does it take to figure it out? Impoverished man seeks job in government office as part of security personnel. Is given training and a gun. Takes gun and goes out and with his buddies starts mowing down members of other factions and tribes.

Hussein was a monster but like a lot of dictators and strongmen he kept the peace in a historically explosive region. By deposing him and the Baathists, Bush opened up a free for all fight for control of Iraq which is leading to total civil war. In the face of such a struggle, training and funding something called "Iraqi Security" will be as futile as the funding of Vietnamese Security was back in the 60s.

Those guns and that training - what will happen to it? Well, when you see the Taliban with Stinger Missiles, ask yourself where they get all that gear from. If you don't want to read history, have another look at Rambo 3. In a couple of years time, Iraq will be a Shia fundamentalist state like Iran, and all those guns and that training and money will be turned against the people the provided it, and, as per usual, that will be the USA.

No...the war in Iraq is not only a bad idea...it is illegal.

The United Nations charter has a provision which was agreed to by the United States formulated by the United States in fact, after World War II. It says that from now on, no nation can use armed force without the permission of the U.N. Security Council. They can use force in connection with self-defense, but a country can't use force in anticipation of self-defense. Regarding Iraq, the last Security Council resolution essentially said, “Look, send the weapons inspectors out to Iraq, have them come back and tell us what they've found -- then we'll figure it out from there.” The U.S. was impatient, and decided to invade Iraq -- which was all pre-arranged of course. So, the United States went to war, in violation of the charter. Making the war in Iraq an “illegal” war.

Also Bush lied about the WMD and he mislead the American people with the Terror Attacks of 911.

No. Even Bush's father said that it would be a big mistake to go back to war with Iraq.

I do! Bush did what his heart told him to. He didnt do it for oil, in case you missed it people the Bush family is among the richest in the nation. HE DOESNT NEED MONEY! It was one of those situations "damned if i do, damned if i dont" another thing you have to look at is the cia giving him information that was false. He has to trust those guys and what they tell him. We cannot leave Iraq until we have wipped out all terrorist training grounds or guess what it will become.....what AFGHANISTAN WAS!!

I don't think there's any doubt it was a good idea, but concept and execution aren't the same thing, and, as usual, the devil's in the details.
