Think back to middle school, try to remeber the dreamy, silent poetic type who always had a Zen-like smile on his face. Now imagine him today-- what would he be like? What kind of lover, thinker, fatehr, brother would he become?

It's not a muse you seek. You need these things you speak of: passion, intensity, etc. Then you'll write poetry.
