I need to make this introduction into a conclusion.

The character Henry David Thoreau incorporates the beliefs of transcendentalism into his life through deep reverence and respect for nature, individualism, and social consciousness.

Any ideas???

To tie the introduction of your presumably biographical essay, I would suggest using a quote, either by Thoreau or by another author discussing Thoreau regarding any one of the aforementioned topics. This will tie your introduction into the conclusion without sounding redundant. (And assuming that this is your thesis statement, make sure that you do NOT repeat this, even if you change the words. Talk to the reader on an intellectual basis, not through reiterating yourself.)

Hope this helps you -- good luck!!! :D

Given the Jeffersonian romantic idyll of an agrarian America where gentlemen farmers tended their lowing herds and harvested in abundance, his life was lived at just the time when his ideals could gain currency.
The Civil War, just at his death, would usher in the Hamiltonian industrial society that engulfs the individual and makes nature a force to be tamed. Whether Thoreau could have become the man and social philosopher he was a century later is truly problematic.
