My sister didn't get a positive pregnancy test until 20 weeks. She took a blood test at 16 weeks and it was positive. Afterwards, she was just curious to see if it would show up later. After her + blood test, she took one at 16 weeks and then 20 weeks and it finally showed positive at 20 weeks. She just didn't have enough detectable hcg in her system. It's possible. Go get a blood test. It should tell you for sure.

They can give false negative but those are almost always because the person tested too early. Anytime after a missed period a home test should be accurate, but of course there are cases where women never get positives on home tests. You might want to visit the dr so that he/she can do a blood test for pregnancy and if you are not pregnant then they will be able to tell you what is keeping your period away and make sure everything is okay. Best Wishes!

A negative is less accurate than a positive, meaning that if you get a negative you have a higher chance of it being wrong. I did have negative tests when I was pregnant, but it was because I was not very far along. I just had symptoms early. I HAVE heard of women who don't show up positive on home tests for some reason, usually because the hormone in their urine isn't strong enough or the test isn't sensitve enough.

To get the most accurate results, use a test that has the option for "early response", like clearblue easy digital (I recommend that to EVERYONE! it just spells out "Pregnant" or "Not Pregnant" and takes all the guesswork out of it, plus it is very sensitve to hcg, the pregnancy hormone). Plus, test first thing in the morning when your urine is most concentrated. if it still comes up negative, chances are you aren't pregnant.

However, if you still haven't gotten your period in another couple of weeks, see a doctor, because stranger things HAVE happened. Good luck!

My sister-in-laws friend had this happen to her. But she kept having her period until her 4th month. She had taken pregnancy tests during that time because she had noticed a couple other symptoms and wanted to be sure. They all came back neg. She was sure she wasnt pregnant until she started gaining weight. She saw a doctor and they gave her a blood test. Surprise!-she had a little girl.

Some women give off less than normal levels of HCG early pregnancy- the hormone released in pregnant women that is picked up by over the vounter pregnancy tests. Your first morning urine is the strongest content of HCG. The most accurate result is taken in the morning.

Yes, happened with both of my pregnancies. It is possible that you just aren't far enough along to have a large enough amount of the hcg hormone, which is what the test detects. Wait another couple days, and try again. Good luck...

I took test for 2 weeks before I got a positive.. You could still be pregnant.. Wait another couple of days and take another one... You may not have enough hCG in your body...

YES! my friend took one and it said she wasnt pregnant, but really...she was. also, another friend still got her period when she found out she was pregnant. you should wait a few days and try it again...if it shows negative again. go to planned parenthood and they'll give you a test. FOR FREE!
