Oh, I feel for you--I've been there, too. I did a couple things.
1. Bought on-brand (Pampers, Huggies, Luvs--my personal favorite--they are just as absorbant and better fitting, but not quite as expensive) for night because they really do absorb better. My 7 month old daughter has only peed through the off brand diapers, and she sleeps 10-13 hours at a time. (She doesn't get diaper rash from this either, otherwise I wouldn't do it, but a little bit of ointment before bed can head it off if you are worried about it).
2. Buy the next stage diaper, but you have to make sure it is tight enough around her waist and legs.
3. The blankets and waterproof pad were good ideas, too.
4. Make sure the diaper is fitting well on the backside. Sometimes, it accidentally gets bent down a little and therefore leaves room for it all to leak out around her back.
Good luck! :)

When we forgot to tuck in the leadguards on the legs, we sometimes got leakage. We learned real fast when it was poo.
Also when we were pushing it on using the next size up diapers because we wanted to use up the smaller size, she leaked too. That was totally our fault for being cheap.
We also found that pampers baby dry worked much better at night. Our 6 month old sleeps 12 hours and has a very full but fully contained diaper in the morning.
If you are using a non-popular brand during the day and fine with it, then just use a brand-name at night.
In the meantime, use a puppy training pad or disposible changing pad between the mattress cover and the mattress so she doesn't pee into her bed.

First, you may need to go up a size in diapers. If they are too small, the pee is going to leak through the leg holes or up the back. Secondly, I would try a different diaper for night-time. Try a couple different name-brands and see which one works best for your child. It seems like the generic brands can sometimes not be as absorbant, and although may be fine for the day, can be awful at night. In the mean time, put a blanket, lap pad, something absorbant under your baby so that if she soaks it, you can take it off and not constantly have to change the sheets. Good luck!

YUP...I hear ya!
First, I got the waterproof mattress cover, which at least protected the mattress.
Then, I bought the Huggies Overnite diapers. They definitely work better. Now he sleeps about 12 hours and wakes up with a very full diaper, but it does not leak through.
These diapers need to be fastened well in order to work, so make sure they are big enough, but not too big. My son weighs 17 pounds and he wears size 3.
Good Luck!

What kind of diapers are you using? I personally never had much success with the cheapo brands. Sure they save a little when you first buy them, but they are usually not as absorbent and cost more in the long run. How? Baby wets through, you change his/her night clothes, blankets, other bedding. You have to wash all that extra laundry- which costs in detergent, water, electricity and/or gas, not to mention your time and frustration which you can't put a dollar amount on.
So, my suggestions are to buy the best diaper you can possibly afford ( you may have to experiment with different ones), use a waterproof mattress cover or pad, and try to change your baby right before you put her to bed. She is still too young to be cutting down on her fluid intake, you can do that when she gets older,(about 1 year old). God bless you very much.

My 21 month old does the same thing so I just make a habit of changing his diaper in the middle of the night. He wakes up crying off and on anyway, so I just make myself get up and do it. It's either that or wake up to soaked jammies and sheets! That's the only thing I have found that works and I use a good brand name diaper as well-Huggies Supreme usually.

I agree on getting a good brand for bedtime (Huggies Supreme for me), making sure it's secured properly, make sure no skin is showing where the tabs are, going up a size may help, but again making sure it's on right, be sure to ruffle the sides outwords to make sure her cheeks are well covered.

buy a mattress pad to put over the mattress, under the sheet so the mattress doesn't smell like urine. I usually change the baby before I go to bed (he goes to bed before me) and he always stays asleep--just be sure to dress him in pj's easy to manuever.
