Mantissa of 900.4?

I have just recently learned about logarithms in school and I am having trouble learning it. Right now, I am unsure on how to find the mantissa and the characteristic for 900.4. It says to find the log first though which I have already done. It is 2.9544 if you need it. Thank you for helping.

The mantissa is 0.9544

"Characteristic" just means the whole number part of the logarithm.
"Mantissa" just means the fractional part of the logarithm.
